Dove/Teal and Fishing Package

Fall is a wonderful time in Southwest Louisiana for those looking to enjoy the outdoors. The opening of the hunting seasons in September and the fantastic fall fishing available on Calcasieu Lake can make for a tough choice. Our combination dove or teal/fishing package lets you enjoy the best of both worlds.

We can arrange these packages to suit your busy schedules. Arrive in the early afternoon and split the trip over two days or arrive for dinner and make an all day affair of it the following day. The dove and teal seasons usually do not overlap, so you must plan according to the species you wish to target along with the trout and redfish. Our rice field teal hunts will be scheduled in the mornings and dove hunts will generally be in the afternoons over planted millet fields.

The Calcasieu Charter Service Lodge will provide you with a relaxing atmosphere for your stay in our quiet little settlement adjacent Hebert's Marina on the eastern shore of Calcasieu Lake. A cold drink or adult beverage will be awaiting your arrival and the fine Cajun cooking will certainly entertain your taste buds.

Your morning begins early with a full breakfast to prepare you for the long day ahead. Departing early for teal hunting lets you get in the blinds just in time for the first flights. Our rice fields typically offer fast shooting for the early season blue and green winged teal. Following the hunt you will return to the lodge to grab your fishing gear and off you go to experience some of the finest fishing on the Gulf Coast. Speckled trout and redfish are generally very cooperative when the conditions are favorable and winds are light. A liberal bag limit in Louisiana rewards the customer with fresh fish for several dinners and usually a few for the freezer as well.

A boxed lunch is provided on the boat as well as all beverages. We will provide all the fishing equipment necessary at no cost or you may bring your own. You need to bring your own guns, shells and boots for hunting. Please remember that lead shot is acceptable for the dove hunts but steel shot is required for the teal hunts.
