Gray Plantation, a championship daily fee course, has evolved as the finest course in Southwest Louisiana in the short time since it's inception in the fall of 1999. Gray Plantation has recently been included on the Audubon Golf Trail in Louisiana. Located southwest of the city of Lake Charles, this course is a short 15-minute ride from the Calcasieu Charter Service Lodge. The Contraband Bayou Golf Club, located on site at the fabulous L'Auberge du Lac Hotel & Casino in Lake Charles, is a new course which opened in 2005 and was designed by world renowned golf architect Tom Fazio. Fazio has been honored for creating award-winning courses throughout the United States and no living designer has more courses credited on Golf Digest's list of America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses and Golfweek magazine's collection of America's Best.
Your trip begins when you arrive at the course in the early afternoon for a relaxing round of golf. After a challenging circuit on the links, a quick trip to the lodge will provide you with a peaceful atmosphere for your stay in our quiet little settlement adjacent Hebert's Marina, on the eastern shore of Calcasieu Lake. A cold drink or adult beverage of your choice will be awaiting your arrival. The evening meal, a delicious Cajun delicacy, will fill any voids left by the day's activity and your thoughts will turn to the images of big trout and redfish for which Calcasieu Lake is so widely known.
An early start to the morning is greeted with a full breakfast to prepare you for the long day ahead. Departing the dock around first light, you will be introduced to some of the finest fishing on the Gulf Coast. Speckled trout and redfish are generally very cooperative when the conditions are favorable and winds are light. A liberal bag limit in Louisiana rewards the customer with fresh fish for several dinners and usually a few for the freezer.
A boxed lunch is provided on the boats as well as all beverages. We will provide all the fishing equipment necessary at no cost or you can bring along that favorite rod and reel if you desire. The boats will arrive back at the dock by 2 pm. Your fish will be cleaned and packaged while you return to the lodge to clean up and prepare to depart or just need to soak up some cool air before you do it all again.
The cost of the fish and golf package is $450 per person (three person minimum) at Gray Plantation and $435 per person (three person minimum) at the Contraband Bayou Golf Club.
